What's Up, Bumblebee?

Original idea is from the book "What's New, Cupcake?" by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson. However, made a few changes and personal 'developments' to the recipe and design in the book. Although they didnt turn out quite as I had initially expected, I feel the use of the caramalised sugar for the honeycomb works better than what is originally listed to use in the book. All ingredients were bought from ASDA (as well as the brown cupcake holders.) The cupcakes themselves were made by my friend Rick, and decorated by *KaTT-aKlysM (myself).

The cupcake is made from the mixture given in the back of the book.

The Bumble Bees are made from:
Chocolate covered Honeycomb's (for the body)
Yellow piped icing (for the stripes)
White piped icing (for the eyes)
Buttermilk icing with black food colouring (for the eye iris)
Sliced almonds (for the wings)

The hexagon honeycomb is made from casting sugar that has been caramalised at a low heat (to stop from burning too quickly) and spooned into the shape; I drew a quick sketch template on a peice of tin foil so that once cooled it came off easily and was reusable.

The centre of the cupcake was pink sprinkles that were dyed yellow through food colouring. I then layered it in honey.
